Become Films is currently working on “Recovering,” a documentary film chronicling the lives of injured troops healing from the wounds of war. The film follows several veterans during the summer of 2011, on the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks. Soldiers, still in and recently out of the military, are literally willing their own recoveries from life-changing wounds, such as lost limbs and post-traumatic stress, through a simple recreation: bicycling.
We trekked with the troops through several states on the East Coast, including the sites of the 9/11 attacks, as well as Normandy, France. Troops were challenged by arduous road cycling journeys spanning hundreds of miles.
We captured the highs and lows during filming, discovering a truly emotional and significant narrative of recovery, friendship and homecoming during one amazing summer.
With filming done, “Recovering” is now in the editing stage.
Become Films has received significant interest from theaters and television to bring the film to a large audience. Become Films is also currently working with sponsors to provide backing to complete the film.
